Job overview

SEND Teacher

Starting: September 2023

Location: Botley School, Oxford

Salary: MPS/UPS

Botley School is an inclusive and diverse community school based just outside the Oxford City area. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher who can help us to develop a new SEND strategy at Botley school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder needs. The role will involve setting up a class base for a small number of higher need pupils requiring an engagement model for learning, and to support outreach work for other pupils across the school with ASD needs who can learn within a mainstream classroom. The successful candidate will work in a dedicated space in close partnership with the SENCo. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly competent and positive professional who will develop the best possible educational provision for our SEND pupils through the filter of our school values: Kindness, Teamwork, Inclusion, Resilience, Creativity and Respect.

Do you:

·        have a passion for ensuring excellent outcomes for pupils with additional needs?

·        have a strong vision for educational excellence and inclusion for all pupils?

·        engage pupils in stimulating and supportive learning environments?

·        have an excellent understanding of adapting an ambitious curriculum to meet the needs of SEND pupils?

·        want to share your excellent practice with colleagues in school and across the Acer Trust?

·        have excellent interpersonal skills?

We can offer:

·        a close working partnership with the SENCo

·        a small but highly motivated and supportive Leadership Team

·        access to bespoke SEND development and CPD

·        access to high quality school development work across a truly collaborative Trust network

·        a dedicated and supportive Governing Board.

Botley School is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and the ideal candidate will be excited about the opportunity to help us develop our EDI Strategy. Botley School is also dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. A full enhanced DBS check is required for this post prior to commencement.
