The Role

The successful applicant will be enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals. You should have experience of working with visually impaired children and have the ability to work both as part of team and independently. You will ensure our children and young people have appropriate technological aids (visual) to support their development, working in partnership with members of our class teams, families and other stakeholders. You will deliver planned, comprehensive and co-ordinated support and direct teaching for our children and young people, promoting inclusion and enabling access to learning, as well as writing reports. You should have knowledge and understanding of appropriate assessment tools for children with disabilities.


The School

This is a day and weekly boarding (term time only) school for 60 pupils aged 3 to 19 with neuro-motor impairments such as cerebral palsy. A good school with outstanding features (Ofsted November 2017), we are at the forefront of UK Conductive Education. We are an exciting and rewarding place to work and are looking for talented people to join our team.


Requirements

The school are looking for someone with strong personal values and emotional resilience, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all teams. You should have good IT and organisation skills in order to work flexibly. You will ideally have up-to-date knowledge and understanding of educational legislation, the SEND code of practice and OFSTED inspection frameworks.

Knowledge and experience of working within a Conductive Education setting is not essential, as comprehensive training will be given.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any successful applicant will be required to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
