32.5 hours per week 

Term time only (38 weeks)

We need someone to assist in promoting the learning and personal development of two pupils (time split 50/50) to enable them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them and aid them to learn as effectively as possible. The pupils are well behaved and eager to learn but just need some extra help in certain areas.

The job will include: (see job description for more details)

• Motivating and encouraging the pupils as required by providing levels of individual attention, reassurance and help with learning tasks as appropriate to their needs. 

• To use initiative to provide support for SEND pupils to broaden and enrich their learning. 

• Establish a supportive relationship with the pupils and to monitor their response to learning activities and where appropriate modify or adapt the activities as agreed with the teacher to achieve the learning outcomes. 

• Supporting the classroom teachers and other professionals with learning activities and interventions as necessary. 

• To contribute to the monitoring of children’s progress.

We need a SEND TA who:

• Is enthusiastic, reliable, has a desire to learn and a love of children. 

• Is willing to learn about Special Needs or has experience. 

• Wants to join a welcoming, dedicated and motivated team. 

• Can provide 1:1 learning and care support.

About Sheringdale Primary School

Sheringdale, a community state school, is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational primary situated in Southfields, south-west London. The school will provide 352 places for pupils aged 3-11 when fully subscribed.

The school sees itself as being at the heart of the local community, and actively encourages the participation of its governors, each of whom has been linked to a different subject area. Sheringdale has recently completed some building work, with the new classrooms and extra outdoor space benefiting the younger students in particular.

Sheringdale encourages children to be outdoor learners as well as keen academic performers. Extracurricular activities take place every day of the week, and include music clubs for pupils learning piano or recorder, as well as netball and cricket/multi-sports clubs.
