Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an inspirational and committed SENDCo to join Sir Henry Fermor CE Primary School and work closely as part of our Leadership team. Our school is a successful two form entry Primary school serving areas of mixed housing and diversity, in a thriving market town. We enjoy close links with a dynamic and encouraging church and are superbly supported by our many families. We are a school steeped in history and we were graded ‘GOOD’ in February 2019 by Ofsted and ‘GOOD’ by SIAMS in July 2019. With our great team, who support each other and work closely together to maintain high expectations for all, we are continuing on our exciting journey, striving for excellence.

We are now seeking an energetic, enthusiastic and passionate colleague who understands the power of working within a team and, who from the beginning will feel ready to add something to our Fermor Family. A good track record of being able to deliver high quality learning experiences with equal care and challenge will be essential. Additionally, a great enthusiasm for learning, a desire for self-development through research and a passion for designing engaging learning experiences are qualities we value. This role is ideally suited to an experienced SENDCo looking for a new challenge in a supportive school setting. However, our SEND provision is well developed and organised, so, this position may also suit an excellent classroom practitioner – with passion and experience in supporting and adapting learning for SEND – wishing to further their leadership skills and experience.

At Sir Henry Fermor, we are dedicated to ensuring every child's potential is realised, and out of this is born our school motto - Inspire, Believe, Achieve. Our vision for our school is that the development of the whole child is at the heart of everything that we do and that no child is left behind. It is our passion to develop the whole child in a safe, Christian environment and through our inspirational curriculum, we enthuse and challenge, allowing every child's potential to be realised.

Please visit our website to gain further insight into our school and the SHF family. https://www.fermorschool.org.uk/ and we encourage you to visit our school. We welcome interest from colleagues who share our determination to inspire young people as lifelong learners, and who believe, that through self-efficacy and a growth mind-set, all can aim high and achieve their full potential, in every aspect.

The successful candidate will need to:

• Have experience identifying, monitoring and providing effective support for pupils with SEND

• Be passionate for SEND and children’s learning and development, enabling all children to achieve

• Be an excellent classroom practitioner

• Support our Christian ethos and the key values of our school

• Be an excellent communicator and planner with excellent organisational skills

• Have effective behaviour management

• Be an effective and committed team member

• Be able to effectively engage with the whole school, our parents and wider community

• Demonstrate resilience, motivation and commitment for achieving excellence

We offer:

• A caring and supportive Christian school community
