Job overview

North Bridge House West Hampstead is seeking to recruit a highly competent, passionate, and committed SENDCo to oversee SEN provision across Key Stage 1. This is a part time role, two days a week (FTE 0.4)

North Bridge House West Hampstead is an independent, selective, co-educational Nursery and Pre-Prep School, located in North West London. West Hampstead Nursery & Pre-Prep School successfully launched in September 2020, boasting excellent facilities and outdoor learning areas. We are a growing school and looking for forward thinking, innovative staff to join our team. Located in the heart of West Hampstead, and ideally situated between West Hampstead and Kilburn stations, West Hampstead Nursery & Pre-Prep is in the heart of a vibrant and bustling part of the capital. Boasting many independent cafes and restaurants, as well as a farmer’s market, this pocket of North West London is an exciting location for families to raise their children. Being a short 15 minutes from central London, the school will provide a stimulating yet homely environment that is local, yet globally influenced.

As the SENDCo at North Bridge House West Hampstead you will work closely with the Head of School in the strategic development of the school’s Academic and Special Educational Needs (SEND) strategy and policy for KS1 pupils. This will include responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the SEND provisions and coordination of special needs activities together with management of the Learning Support programme and associated teams.

About the role:

  • You will line manage Teaching Assistants and support them in the delivery of appropriate interventions for pupils.
  • You will support Teachers with ensuring that all teaching meets the needs of all pupils.
  • You will liaise with the teaching team, parents, and external agencies to ensure that IEPs / EHCPs are coordinated, delivered and reviewed effectively.
  • You will maintain the provision map for KS1.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified teacher with a SENCO qualification and have vast experience with Special Educational Needs.

You should be really passionate about making a difference to the lives of children. Due to the nature of the role we are also looking for an experienced practitioner with great organisational skills and already be an inspirational leader
