Job overview

INTRODUCTION

Castles Education LLP is a fast-growing group of Independent Schools providing specialist educational services for 7 to 19 year-old students with social, emotional and mental health issues. Our ‘Futures’ educational programme aims to build self-belief, create social and personal opportunity, raise standards, develop ambitious personal aspirations and to create safe trusting environments for everyone in our care regardless of their social, emotional, personal or geographical background.

PURPOSE OF THE POST

Castles are looking to appoint an ambitious, inspirational SENDCo.

An essential team player working with our fantastic teaching staff integrating with our current SENDCO.

You will have the drive and determination to support our expanding student intake.

This is an exciting full time role within a school that has an outstanding reputation for its dedication to inclusion. Our students all have EHCPs or are going through the assessment stage.

We are looking for someone who can work effectively within a strong Leadership Team.

You will possess a genuine commitment, making a positive contribution to the school.

Having experience of leading whole school initiatives and an innovative approach to delivering SEND interventions.

In September 2022, we moved to a larger site in Gainsborough with the aim of offering engaging, pupil centred and bespoke opportunities to up to 110 students aged 7 to 19.

Class sizes are small which promotes our desire for high-quality teaching and learning alongside an enhanced level of individualised support.

Our learners are supported with external and on-site vocational experiences providing the holistic learning environment required for a rounded education.

Our three faculty curriculum allows tailored curriculums based on the students primary needs with adaptive teaching to accompany intervention packages delivered by skilled staff in academic, behavioural and cognitive areas.

To be considered for this role you must meet the following criteria:

-       Holder of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

-       Holder of National SENCo Award.

- A proven track record in managing, supporting and re-engaging learners with SEMH needs.

- An open mind in alternative education.

-       Experience with trauma informed practice.

- The ability to liaise with external agencies.

- The desire to access a managerial position and grow your leadership skills.

- A demonstrable passion for teaching quality and consistency of standards.

- Patience and a good sense of humour

- A non-judgemental approach to young people

- A current, enhanced, updated DBS check (or be willing to undertake one)

- Be willing to undergo a thorough vetting and “Safer Recruitment” process

NB: The closing date and interview date is a guide only. We intend to review applications as they are received and call those shortlisted for immediate interview. An early application is advised, as once we have appointed, we will close the recruitment process.

Castles Futures are committed to safeguarding and protecting the wellbeing of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share their commitment. An enhanced DBS is required for all successful applicants.
