We are seeking to appoint an experienced and committed SENDco to join our enthusiastic team at Featherby. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the school’s SEND policy and the Code of Practice. You will provide whole school leadership in the areas of SEND and inclusion. 

We expect the successful candidate to have completed the SENDCo qualification.

Featherby Partnership consists of 2 schools; Featherby Infant and Nursery and Featherby Junior schools. We are part of the Maritime Academy Trust who are a group of high performing schools who work in partnership to ensure high standards for children. The partnership offers immense opportunities to develop the quality of provision, sharing of good practice and professional growth.

Our curriculum and thematic approach to teaching is at the heart of our practice and we ensure children develop skills for learning and for life through our curriculum outcomes. We pride ourselves on being a fully inclusive, happy and successful school.

Candidates should have:

  • High expectations of children’s attainment and progress
  • Belief that with the appropriate support all children can achieve success.
  • Knowledge and experience of working successfully with children who have a range of special needs and disability.
  • A good understanding of the needs of pupils with a range of abilities and from different backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and behaviour management skills with the ability to lead, motivate, inspire and support colleagues, pupils and parents.
  • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to adapt the curriculum in an exciting way.
  • Be driven to make a real difference to the lives of children.
  • Have a commitment to working in partnership with staff, parents and the community to promote excellent learning opportunities for all
