Northampton International Academy is looking for a Secondary phase Special Education Needs Co-Ordinator to work within our Secondary Phase. We are looking for someone to positively and proactively take responsibility for the day to day SEN provision and policy and someone who is able to contribute to the strategic development of our SEN policy. We are looking for someone who is SENCO trained and who holds Qualified Teacher Status. The ideal candidate with have experience of teaching a range of SEN across the whole secondary age range and can lead and train a team on curriculum initiative.

The focus of the job role will be ensuring students with a SEN or disability have full entitlement to the curriculum and to provide professional guidance to colleagues.

Our hardworking, enthusiastic SENCO will have an excellent understanding of the principles of inclusive teaching and of the statutory duties in relation to SEND and equality. They will also be strong in the use of data to track progress and identify needs.

Northampton International Academy is part of the East Midlands Academy Trust, it is an all through school, 4–19, and opened in September 2016. In July 2019, the academy achieved an Ofsted rating of Good. 

It is a fantastic time to join NIA as it has its first Year 11 and 13 intakes, as well as further groups in the primary phase and by September 2021 the school will have over 2000 pupils. This will make NIA one of the largest free schools in the country.
