The Bulwell Academy is an 11-18 academy serving families in and around the Bulwell area of Nottingham. We are part of a family of schools that make up the Creative Education Trust and are on an exciting journey to raise standards and ensure we do all that is needed to help the young people we serve to succeed. We are looking for a qualified SENDCO to join our expanding team at The Bulwell Academy. We are a rapidly growing school and there are many exciting changes underway. We need people who are driven by meeting the needs of all young people regardless of their starting point. You will be well organised, love a challenge, work well as part of a team, and be self-motivated by a desire to succeed.
We are a school that encourages all young people to take responsibility for their actions as we help our students to become independent young adults with confidence and self-belief, striving to fulfil their ambitions and dreams. You will therefore need to have unwavering belief in all young people and their aspirations and want to help them to succeed.
The SENDCO will manage and lead on all aspects of the day-to-day operations of our growing SEND Provision and will play a key role in supporting and leading on the strategic planning for SEND. They will be the designated teacher for looked after children and will support the safeguarding needs of students with SEND, in conjunction with the DSL. A strong understanding of contextual safeguarding or direct experience as a Deputy DSL would be advantageous but is not essential.
