We are looking for a SENDCo to take up this important leadership position at Mulberry UTC, a new school for boys and girls aged 14-19 which opens in Tower Hamlets in September 2017.  This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Mulberry Schools Trust and to become a founding member of staff at Mulberry UTC. You will be a member of our Associate Senior Leadership team and will have a key role to play in establishing our new school’s culture, values and ethos. Mulberry UTC will provide young people with the opportunity to achieve excellence in both academic and technical learning. We are an inclusive school and are committed to ensuring that students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities are given the support they need to thrive and to fulfil their full potential. You will have experience of achieving excellent outcomes for students and of SEN-related responsibilities, policy and practice. You will be skilled at building rapport with students and engaging them in learning in creative, practical and innovative ways. As either an experienced SENCo or an experienced teacher seeking career progression, you will be passionate about championing the needs of vulnerable students and those with additional needs.  Candidates are required to have, or to want to work towards, the National Award in Special Educational Need Coordination. Our successful candidate will join us for September 2017 and we may be able to offer an earlier start.

Mulberry UTC is a school for boys and girls aged 14-19 which opened in Bow, east London in September 2017. It is part of the Mulberry Schools Trust, along with Mulberry School for Girls and Mulberry Academy Shoreditch. Our vision is to provide young people with outstanding academic, technical and vocational learning, so that they are well-prepared to succeed in their chosen future careers. We offer an innovative curriculum, supported by industry and university partners including Barts Health NHS Trust, Bank of America, the BFI, the National Theatre and Goldsmiths, University of London.
