Job overview

At Holy Cross Catholic Voluntary Academy our staff and governors strive to provide a positive and happy working environment where all our children are valued.  We are a small, busy, friendly school located in the bustling market town of Hucknall.  Located 7 miles North-West of Nottingham Hucknall is easily accessible from Nottingham by tram and the rest of the county by train.

Are you an experienced and enthusiastic, all round office administrator looking to manage a small team in a busy school office?

We are looking for someone who will efficiently manage the clerical, secretarial and administrative support for the Headteacher and the school. The role encompasses the smooth running of the school office, including completing data returns, ensuring all training is up to date, administration of the admissions process, updating the school’s website, and overseeing the school’s reception desk.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for the appointee to further their career in school administration by developing their line management experience and communicating with staff at a senior level.

You will benefit from excellent opportunities for professional development and networking with senior administrators in other schools as the school is part of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, which encompasses the 21 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire.

You will be required to work 37 hours per week during term time only (39 weeks per year) and this is reflected in the pro rata salary. The hours of work are 8.00am – 4.00pm Monday – Thursday, and 8.00am – 3.30pm Friday.

The post also offers membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme.

We are a welcoming and inclusive school and are happy to accept applications for those of all faiths and none who are supportive of the school’s Catholic character and Christian ethos.

Closing date: 27 January 2020 (12.00 noon)

Interviews: date to be arranged

Due to the high level of interest we have in our vacancies we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants. If you have not heard that you have been successful, please assume that your application has not been shortlisted on this occasion.

The Trust is committed to safe recruitment and the post will be subject to pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust is one of three Trusts created across the Diocese of Nottingham as part of a visionary approach to Catholic education across the Diocese.

We bring together the 36 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, Lincoln and Lincolnshire.

We are, first and foremost, a Catholic Multi-Academy Trust and aim to provide an outstanding faith based education; we place the life, teachings and person of Jesus Christ at the centre of everything we do.

Our priority is to ensure the very best Catholic education for all young people in our community, whatever their circumstances. We will achieve this together, through a strategic approach to sharing best practice, effective challenge and support from a central standards and performance team and opportunities for high quality Initial Teacher Training and Continuing Professional Development offered by the CMAT’s Training Hub.

This is a really exciting time in education across our Diocese and it is a great privilege for us to be able to play a central role in shaping the all round education of the young people in the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust. I really hope you will join us on the journey!
