Nelson and Colne College has a long standing and excellent reputation as an outstanding Further Education College. We are looking for an enthusiastic, competent and highly motivated Senior Admissions Officer to join our close-knit Marketing team on a permanent basis working 37 hours per week.
The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative and leadership skills and have substantial experience within an administrative role, as well as excellent IT skills and experience of using complex computerised management information systems. There must be a strong customer- focused approach and the right candidate will be driven to ensure that our college applicants receive the highest level of customer service.
The successful candidate will be primarily based at Nelson & Colne College but may be required to travel across to other College’s sites.
The main duties include:
• Reporting to the Events and Creative Manager and oversee the delivery of the Admissions processes.
• Oversee the organisation of college interviews and ensure that the customer experience is positive.
• Support the admissions team with delivery, delegating tasks and ensuring that team members deal with customer queries effectively.
• Liaise with our MIS team to ensure the admissions systems are well maintained and data is accurately input and maintained to allow effective reporting and quality data sources.
• Organise the delivery of mailers and ring rounds among the team, provide essential information to parents/applicants, encourage attendance at events and provide reassurance and support.
• Working with the marketing team, ensure that all materials for applicants are informative, relevant and customer-friendly and supporting the key stages of the applicant process.
The ideal candidate will have:
• 4 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English at Grade C or above
• Level 4 qualification in Administration or equivalent experience
• Experience of working in a varied administrative role, in a busy office environment
• Experience of leading a team fulfilling a complex administrative function
• Experience of effectively using computerised management information systems/databases

Nelson and Colne College, located in the town of Nelson, Lancashire, offers further education to 1,600 full-time students and 3,500 part-time adults. The college was founded during the reorganisation of education in Pendle in the early 1970s and created by the merger of several local sixth forms.
Recent investments have included a £2m engineering facility, an all-weather sports pitch and gym, fully equipped science laboratories, and student study and social spaces. In January 2017, Nelson and Colne College launched a university centre to offer a range of higher education programmes in East Lancashire and beyond.
