Senior Assistant Headteacher: Behaviour / Culture

The Elizabeth Woodville SchoolBuckinghamshire

Leadership Pay Spine:  L14 - L18

We require a Senior Assistant Headteacher.  We are looking for a leader who has previous whole school leadership experience, this could be at either middle or senior leadership level.  As a member of the senior leadership team, you will lead staff to enable all students to make maximum progress, and to develop as confident, well-educated and happy young people.  You will be flexible and multi-skilled and able to take on any portfolio or area of responsibility.  The leadership challenges and demands in a school mean that specific responsibilities have to change from time to time, and this role is one in which adaptability and creativity are paramount.

Elizabeth Woodville is a great school, where staff and students strive to improve and learning is at the heart of everything we do.  As the academy is now part of Tove Learning Trust (TLT), a key part of the role will be to embed and blend the trust’s systems, procedures and protocols into ours and ensure optimum efficiency in priority areas.

Our school is located across two sites, Roade and Deanshanger but operates as one school with many staff working across both sites – this role will primarily be based at our South Campus in Deanshanger.

TLT is a MAT with a small central structure and a large amount of autonomy granted to its constituent schools. This role is key to the success of the school and we want an experienced leader with a positive attitude, who cares about making a difference to the outcomes for our students and can take others along with them. You will need to be a team player who can multitask effectively, motivate others and demonstrate a commitment to high standards.

The successful candidate will also:

● Have clarity of vision about improvement strategies

● Show vision, conviction and authority and lead by example

● Be very organised

● Have leadership experience or other faculty/pastoral senior leadership experience.

● Have the desire to help build successful schools and demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that our school communities are effective, efficient and sustainable

● Have to meet the person specification and will be required to apply for a DBS disclosure.

Training and development opportunities will be offered.  All staff are encouraged to study further and the academy will actively support staff to obtain relevant further qualifications where possible.

How to apply:

All documents including the full job description, person specification and application form are available on our website. Please ensure your application form and covering letter includes examples of your experience and how you meet the criteria outlined in the job description and person specification. Please do not send a CV without a fully completed application form. Further information requests or completed applications should be sent to Michelle Saint at

Closing date:  Monday 17 May 2021
