Job overview

Strathallan School, Forgandenny, Perthshire, is seeking to appoint a Senior Deputy Head for an intended start date of April or September 2022. This is a significant and exciting senior appointment for the School. The Senior Deputy Head will be a forward-thinking, ambitious individual who will add value and contribute to the smooth operation and strategic direction of this well-established, vibrant and successful school.

As well as being a key member of the School's Senior Management Team (SMT), the Senior Deputy Head will join the School Executive alongside the Headmaster, Bursar and Director of External Relations. Being part of the Executive will involve attendance at most Governor committee meetings and Full Board meetings and will be part of the core strategy group for the School.

In additional to taking responsibility for the day-to-day running of the School and deputising for the Headmaster in his absence, the Senior Deputy Head will also serve as the Head of Boarding. Due to the nature of this senior role, it is intended that the Senior Deputy Head will live within the School's campus (family accommodation will be provided) yet due consideration will be given to exceptional circumstances and alternative proposals.

The role has a significant strategic element to it and will suit a candidate aspiring to headship in due course and who is looking to gain significant experience of boarding school leadership and strategic development. The Information Pack/Job Brief is designed as an introduction to the School as a whole with the Job Description and Person Specification providing more detailed information.

The closing date for applications is Monday, 1 November 2021 at 12 noon. Long-list interviews will be held on 15 or 16 November 2021 with final short-list interviews taking place on 2 & 3 December 2021.
