Job Purpose
In addition to supporting the general learning and care of pupils across the school, the postholder will provide cover for absent staff, including teachers. The postholder will also assume a lead practitioner and mentoring role for other assistants within the school. They will have some responsibility for ensuring tier one strategies are implemented consistently in the classroom and pupil’s therapy targets are transferred and embedded.

Inscape House are looking for Senior Educational Assistants.
We’re looking for someone who has:
• Level 3 or higher Teaching Assistant qualification or commitment to obtain such qualification within a given period of time.
• Minimum of two year’s experience of working with children with autistic spectrum disorders within a school setting.
• Experience of successful work with pupils who present with behaviours that concern.
• Awareness of current developments in supporting pupils with autism.
• Knowledge of specific approaches to working with people with autism both structured and unstructured, ie. TEACCH, PECS, intensive interaction etc.
