Thamesmead School is seeking to appoint a Senior Finance Officer who:
- is accountancy qualified
- experienced in the maintenance of Companies Accounts
- familiar with the education sector, and
- ideally has experience of SIMS FMS and Tucasi – the school’s two accounting packages, although training can be provided to candidates more familiar with other accounting packages.
The annual accounts are prepared to trial balance and then the Financial Statements, as part of the ‘Annual Report & Financial Statements’, are prepared and audited by External Auditors.
Thamesmead School is willing to advertise this profile with two models being considered.
One post holder working 36 hours per week/43 weeks pear year (four weeks outside of term time)
Salary (based on experience): Surrey Grade 8 £28,294 - £32,838 per annum which equates to £26,593.26 - £30,864.10 pro rata or Surrey Grade 9 £33,332 - £38,312 per annum which equates to £31,328.43 - £36,009.09 pro rata.
Two post holders - a Senior Finance Officer Surrey Grade 8/9 working 22 hours per week/44 weeks of the year (five weeks outside of term time) supported by a Finance Officer on Surrey Grade 7 working 15 hours per week/40 weeks per year (one week outside of term time) - post to be advertised if this model is pursued.
Salary for the Senior Finance Officer will be Surrey Grade 8 £28,294 - £32,838 per annum which equates to £16,629 - £19,300 or Surrey Grade 9 £33,332 - £38,312 per annum which equates to £19,590.39 - £22,517.31 pro rata.
Salary for the Finance Officer will be Surrey Grade 7 £24,642 - £28,590 per annum which equates to £8,977.05 - £10,415.30 pro rata.
Thamesmead School is a standalone academy with approximately 1,000 students. There is no Sixth Form. The School has a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) with 13 full-time Secondary and 2 part-time Primary trainees for the 2018-19 academic year.
