Charters School is a high performing and oversubscribed comprehensive school in Sunningdale (approximately 1700 students on roll, including 390 in the Sixth Form). We consider ourselves to be a school which has its heart in the community and provides our students with a holistic education driven by our core values of Unity Respect Excellence.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Senior Head of Year who is passionate about working with young people, leading a year team and developing the personal development curriculum in Years 7 to 11.  The successful candidate will take on the role Head of Year, as well as teaching a subject across the school.  This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is passionate about the provision of a rich learning experience for students who aspires to become an Assistant Headteacher in the next 3 to 5 years.

Charters School is a very heavily over-subscribed 11-18 Comprehensive Academy School with 1700 students on roll (including 390 in the Sixth Form) located in Sunningdale, Ascot, Berkshire.  It is a dynamic, high-achieving secondary school where students are polite, motivated to succeed and enjoy their education.   The school provides a complete range of opportunities for students to achieve well academically and for successful personal development within a caring and supportive environment.

The school has celebrated its 65th anniversary, having been opened on the 23 April 1958, which is also St. George’s Day and Shakespeare’s birthday.  The red cross of the school badge comes from the cross of St. George, the dagger symbolises Shakespeare and the stag is the symbol of Berkshire.
