Job overview

Islington School ICT Support Partnership is a not-for-profit partnership between Islington Council and four secondary schools in Islington. We provide ICT technical support, network management and MIS support to Primary and Secondary Schools in and around Islington. Due to service expansion we are currently recruiting to a number of new roles to expand the team of remote, school-based and mobile support engineers who work cooperatively to provide support across all of our settings.

We wish to recruit a Senior ICT Support Engineer, who will be primarily based in one of the Partner secondary schools (on a rotational basis) but who will also provide support both remotely and onsite to other settings.

The successful candidate will be an experienced ICT Support Engineer, who is able to work independently to troubleshoot complex issues in a school context. They will be expected to provide support and a point of initial escalation to more junior colleagues, and also to take the lead on discrete aspects of the support service and/or projects as directed by the Technical Support Operations Manager. As a primarily school-based member of staff who will frequently work without direct supervision, the successful candidate will be disciplined, self-motivated and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to be able to relate to school staff, other clients and colleagues at all levels.

Islington Council offers a generous annual leave allowance, membership of the Local Government pension scheme and access to other benefits such as discounted gym membership, cycle scheme and annual season ticket loan.

This is an all-year round, 35 hours per week post, but flexible working or term-time-only can be considered for the right candidate.
