Do you have proven IT experience, great customer service skills plus a passion for continual learning and development?

An exciting opportunity to join our IT team has arisen. Reporting to the IT Systems Manager, you will be part of a small team responsible for providing frontline support for students and staff to ensure that academy IT systems are fully functioning at all times, maintaining IT Service Levels. You will contribute to the development of the Academy IT provision, supporting the IT Systems Manager and deputising in their absence. This is a position in which you can grow and develop, working closely in plans to develop the networks. The IT Support service is open 8am - 4pm with occasional out of hours support and call outs for emergency situations.

Maltings Academy and New Rickstones Academy in Witham, Essex are graded ‘Outstanding’ and ‘Good’ by Ofsted respectively. Both have a state of the art new building offering fantastic facilities for both students and staff alike. This post is based across both academies as well as Witham Sixth Form Centre which is adjacent to New Rickstones Academy.

As new builds, both academies benefit from significant investment in IT infrastructure. We have a range of different systems running on our network including Windows and Mac OSX and both academies use Google Apps for Education extensively to complement internal networks. With over 500 devices at each academy, including desktops, laptops, ChromeBooks, iPads and iPhones, technology is essential in the day to day running of the academies. We also have a VoIP telephony system for which training can be provided if necessary.

Visits to the academy are welcomed: for an informal discussion about the post and if you wish to arrange a visit, please contact Jim Gavin, IT Systems Manager on 01376 512 911 / jgavin@maltingsacademy.org

As the sponsor, AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners - to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them. In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes. You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme, childcare vouchers and Westfield rewards.
