Fairfield High School is a co-educational 11-16 academy based in beautiful rural Herefordshire. We are designated as a Teaching School, which means we have a commitment to offer top quality professional development opportunities to our staff and to work in partnership with our students and other schools to grow creative and innovative young people who will make a great contribution to the wider world. Our record of consistent success at GCSE means that we are regularly in the top three schools in Herefordshire and are recognised by the DfE as one of the top 100 non-selective state schools in England. 

Fairfield has been graded as Outstanding by Ofsted in its last three inspections since 2006, due to the commitment and enthusiasm of our staff. We constantly strive to improve teaching and learning and value our partnership with parents and carers as the key to success for all our students. The curriculum is diverse, interesting and ambitious and offers a full range of academic, creative, sporting, personal and social opportunities; we also offer a huge range of visits and experiences for students, from outside speakers on a range of topics, to field trips, theatre and sports trips and residential visits at home and abroad.

We know that students achieve most when they feel safe, when they know that they are accepted unconditionally and when they are in a happy, caring environment. We have a strong pastoral system and a fully inclusive, comprehensive ethos, which values every child equally and encourages respect, tolerance and diversity. We expect a great deal of our students and of our staff, and set high standards for both.

Fairfield has a commitment to excellent ITT and CPD and works with a number of partnerships.  We support, nurture and challenge our staff through all stages of their careers, offering opportunities both in and out of the classroom to grow and develop, learn new skills and share great practice as part of the team that makes Fairfield so unique.

We are enormously fortunate to live and work in such a beautiful area.  Herefordshire has thriving market towns and stunning country locations; we are not far from the Brecon National Park and have easy access to the motorway network.
