We are seeking to appoint an energetic, experienced and highly effective SENDCO to join our senior leadership team. The successful candidate will have a passion for SEND, a love of learning and the ability to develop positive relationships that enable all children to thrive. With the support of the Executive Vice Principal for SEND you will make a significant contribution to whole school and classroom development, working closely with pupils, their families and every member of our extended staff team.
Applicants must be able to evidence:
● their ability to ensure the school meets the statutory requirements of the SEND Code of Practice
● their experience of and ability to develop, monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions across the school in terms of outcomes for pupils
● their ability to lead and support staff in the development and use of EHCPs
● their ability to organise annual effective reviews
● their ability to work strategically supporting the development of a school at al levels
We are looking for a SENDCO who:
● has high expectations of what can be achieved in a special school setting and a proven track record of raising pupil attainment
● understands how children learn and never gives up on them
● is a strong communicator and successful team played, committed to developing strong working relationships with pupils, staff, families and outside agencies
● is a first rate teacher who can model best practice throughout the school
● is determined, resilient and has high expectations of themselves
● has a vision of what outstanding provision should look like and the ability to support the school to get there
