Vision for Education are looking to recruit an outstanding Senior Lecturer in Games/Software Development on behalf of a client Education provider in Newcastle. They are looking for a confident and proactive individual to join a busy team.
Our client will accept applications from those with a track record from Industry, with a particular interest in those able to complement strength and/or augment their existing strengths as below. A formal teaching qualification is not required as you will join a Teacher Training program.
Our client’s digital technologies team provides a practical curriculum at both FE and HE, typically full-time BTEC Diploma programmes at levels 1 to 3, as well as work based apprenticeships, FdSc foundation degrees and BSc top up courses within HE. They also operate a range of vendor and professional courses.
Ideally, you will possess development experience that includes:
- Full understanding of the Unity API
- Strong knowledge of C# / Java / C++ programming language
- Strong knowledge of Object Orientated Programming
- Desirable experience could include experience with
- Monogame
- Cocos2D
- Multiplayer Games
- Android API's.
In addition the Senior Lecturer role, you will have responsibility for the promotion of industry practice across teaching teams within the department to improve the quality of teaching and learning.
You will be a strong, professional, positive communicator, who is able, for example, to contribute to positive team building and collaborative work, not just within computing but across a full department.
Crucially, you will be passionate about creativity and providing outstanding training and learning for the computing practitioners of tomorrow, as part of a wider Creative and Digital Industries department, and with a full understanding of the fast pace and vital importance of developing digital skills. Experience of engagement with external groups, the development of commercial and/or co-curricular activities would also be desirable.
The position is will start ASAP and has the potential to become permanent.
The salary for this position will be between £23 and £27 per hour depending on experience. NQT’s and experienced teachers are welcome and encouraged to apply.
