Sheffield Institute of Education is one of the largest providers of teacher and wider workforce development in the UK. Recognised for excellence, innovation and our strong educational partnerships, we train 25% of all new teachers in the Yorkshire and Humber region.

As a Senior Lecturer you will deliver high quality learning experiences to your students, motivating them to achieve their best. Alongside your teaching you will take on lead responsibility for areas of course and curriculum development, so you'll need excellent organisational and leadership skills and the ability to work effectively in teams. The institute's size and breadth means there are also opportunities to get involved in research and knowledge exchange in areas related to your expertise.

Knowledge of Ofsted quality requirements is essential. You'll also need recent experience of teaching maths in secondary schools, as well as some experience of teaching or training in higher education.

For non-EU applicants, we are unlikely to be able to offer a certificate of sponsorship for this job (unless you are switching from a student visa), so you should only apply if you already have unrestricted permission to work in the UK.

Closing date: 30 November 2016.
