This is an opportunity for an excellent teacher with UK QTS to join our friendly and highly motivated team of lecturers to teach secondary science on our Initial Teacher Education programmes. The University of Hertfordshire has a strong track record of excellence in ITE and a commitment to meeting the needs of students and school partners through undergraduate, PGCE and School Direct provision and programmes for others working in the field of education. Two of the specialist Centres of Expertise based in the School of Education are the Primary Science Quality Mark and the Centre for STEM Education.

Are you a qualified, knowledgeable science specialist and excellent classroom practitioner who could join our expert staff team, contribute to our programmes and inspire a range of learners? We are looking for someone who will be able to take a professional lead for secondary science provision. You must have a strong understanding of pedagogy in secondary science teaching, along with evidence of outstanding practice and your personal commitment to reflective learning and teaching.

You will have the subject knowledge and professional expertise to provide inspiring secondary science input to students on ITE but also to contribute to other relevant programmes. Working in other areas of the School’s portfolio is expected and would be negotiated with the successful applicant. As an academic in the School of Education you will be engaged in research and scholarship in a relevant area.
