Colston’s School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and innovative Senior Librarian to lead and further develop our outstanding library provision in the Lower and Senior schools. Our school has a strong and vibrant reading culture, with regular author visits and a popular annual Reading Challenge. In addition to having excellent administrative, ICT and inter-personal skills, you should be a voracious reader who enjoys a hands-on approach to promoting a love of reading in young people.

The successful candidate will relish the challenge of building on the excellent provision already in place and further developing the libraries into thriving centres of learning.

It is anticipated that there will be a period of hand-over from our existing and outstanding librarian. We would like to appoint as soon as possible from September 2016 although a later start date would be acceptable.

Colston’s is a thriving co-educational day school on the outskirts of Bristol, easily accessible from the M32 and with approximately 750 students aged from 3 to 18. The Upper School occupies a glorious thirty acre campus and has all of its facilities on-site.

The hours for this role will be 11am until 5.30pm (including half an hour lunch break, unpaid), 39 weeks per year (term-time plus 20 days) + 5.67 weeks paid holiday. The remuneration pay scale is NJC pt 33 – 36 (£28,746 - £30,978) pro rata-dependant on experience (actual salary range £19,755 - £21,289). Welcome to Collegiate.

We are a thriving and happy co-educational day school for pupils aged 3 to 18, located just north of Bristol. At Collegiate we have approximately 800 pupils, with our Preparatory School accommodating pupils from Nursery to Year 6, and the Senior School accommodating students from Year 7 up to our Sixth Form.
