We are looking for an enthusiastic, friendly individual to join our small but expanding team at Appleford School. You will need:
• A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification
• HCPC registration
Skills, Knowledge & Experience Required:
• Working with OT colleagues to ensure the OT department is able to work effectively within an academic setting. Experience of supervising staff members, and service development; maintaining caseloads and waiting lists
• At least 2 years of relevant pediatric OT experience at undergraduate/post graduate level
• Experience working with pupils aged 7-18 with Occupational Therapy needs
• Knowledge of Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, ASD, ADHD and associated conditions
• Up to date clinical knowledge and evidence of recent relevant CPD
• Experience in carrying out clinical assessment and planning and implementing a programme of intervention, note and report writing
• Working knowledge / experience of working with Education Health and care plans
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a flexible and independent approach
• Ability to demonstrate empathy with pupils and their families
• Able to manage own time and caseload, prioritising tasks
• Excellent reflection skills
You will be working with a specialist caseload of pupils who have specific learning difficulties. You will work closely with onsite Speech and Language Therapists, the pastoral team, and academic and Boarding Staff to ensure therapy targets are incorporated into the educational setting.
Full time, 52 weeks p.a.
