  • Be experienced in enabling students to understand information literacy and digital citizenship.
  • Manage the library catalogue’s circulation (checking in/out and reshelving of books).
  • Be responsible for collaborating with teachers on curriculum design and enriching all subject teaching units through the use of library resources.
  • Review the current library sources and make suggestions for appropriate new acquisitions.
  • Be enthusiastic about promoting international understanding and service learning.
  • Be committed to high standards of organisation.
  • Be visible and approachable at the heart of the Library, with excellent interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.
  • Be flexible, creative, and resilient.
  • Be a collaborative team member who is keen to support the development of the wider school community.

What will you bring to the table?

The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Education or other relevant degree with teaching qualification
  • Have experience of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (IB MYP) and philosophy. Experience of the Diploma Programme would be beneficial.

  • Experience of teaching English, especially to MY1-3 level, would be advantageous.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written)
  • Be an innovator, committed to learning and keeping up to date with current research.
  • Be an inspiring, challenging, and empowering educator.
  • Be able to demonstrate creativity, compassion, and a desire to make a difference in the learning of our children.

**Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. Applications will close earlier if suitable candidate is found before closing date.**

Our curriculum is based on the principle that children’s best learning happens when they are engaged and emotionally involved in their education when it is meaningful to them and relates to the world around them. At Amity Amsterdam our students’ educational experiences will be individualised based on their skills, abilities, interests, needs and learning styles. A fundamental part of our curriculum is the opportunity to go out into the real world, to talk to experts and have a ‘hands on’ experience. This enables children to form a personal connection with their education and deepens their understanding, transforming learning into something vivid and real.
