Calm and tranquil in an enchanting rural setting, St. Dominic’s Grammar School in Brewood is at the forefront of independent education. Founded in 1920 by the sisters of the Dominican Order, our School has a long established history of delivering excellence in the teaching and development of young people, all of whom emerge from education as confident, well-rounded individuals, equipped to take their place in the world. Whilst the Dominican sisters are no longer involved, those qualities remain the ethos of St. Dominic’s – striving for academic excellence and an equal emphasis on inspiring growth in mind, body and spirit; which is as true today as it was when the School was founded.

Academically, St. Dominic’s is excellent, producing some of the best exam results in the region. However, we offer so much more than a first-class education and believe that our School is centred around enriching the lives of everyone through innovative learning, creativity, sport, expressive arts, STEM and a sense of community that will last a lifetime.

Early Years and Pre-Preparatory

Located within the Junior department building, St Dominic’s Early Years’ Foundation Stage is an exciting and stimulating self-contained department, supported by a team of extremely dedicated and highly experienced staff.

Preparatory Department

St Dominic’s Junior department is a modern, purpose built building, spaciously designed to provide a safe and stimulating environment with its own ICT suite, Art rooms, Hall and Library, surrounded by light and airy, well equipped class rooms. Outside there is an enclosed play area and adventure playground.

Senior Department

Our small class sizes, highly dedicated and individualised teaching, progress monitoring and close partnership between pupils, teachers and parents has resulted in our students consistently achieving excellent GCSE results over recent years.

We are proud of our 100% pass rate, particularly as our students have a wide ability range.  For entry into Year 7 all children sit an entrance exam.  We also look for enthusiasm and commitment and we endeavour to ensure that each learner achieves his or her maximum potential, whether academic, artistic or creative.

As the children enter the Senior School, they are taught by dedicated specialist subject teachers, with individual learning goals set and performance monitored, as we continue to develop the whole being of each learner, helping to uncover their destiny.

Sixth Form

Sixth Form is a huge success with all students on track to achieve excellent results in their AS studies in June.  We offer a full range of subjects, so there is something to choose for everybody.

Our new state of the art Sixth Form Centre provides a fantastic facility for study, research and recreation for the Sixth Form students.
