Job overview
We are seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Science Technician to start in April 2018.
The ideal candidate will be a team player who is also forward thinking, visionary, receptive to change and able to work under pressure. Whilst line managing another technician, in this role you will be supportive in the department, engaging with staff and planning technical support for lessons. You will have experience working within schools and will be aware of the Health and Safety requirements of the role.
The successful candidate will be required to plan and prepare equipment for lessons within all three disciplines of science and should be confident with handling chemicals and radioactive materials. They will be responsible for Health and Safety and resourcing within the department. As such you should be an efficient, organised individual that is able to lead and motivate a team in an educational environment.
This position is Term Time (39 weeks) plus 5 days to be agreed by negotiation. The hours are 37 hours a week.
Salary: SAA WAT Band 5, pt 14 -17- £15,688 - £17, 253 (FTE £17,861 - £19,643)*
*Salary is subject to a Pay and Grading Review, currently being undertaken.
