We are looking to appoint a Senior Science Technician to join our busy science team. The Senior Science Technician would be expected to organise, deliver and develop technical services to the Science Department of the school in order to support the teaching of a range of science subjects. In addition the post-holder will supervise other science technicians, giving advice, setting standards and ensuring that these are maintained. Typical daily responsibilities will include material preparation for projects within the department, setting up classrooms for practical lessons, replenishing stock, maintaining departmental IT equipment and keeping a record of health and safety requirements.

Hours: Permanent-32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year
Salary: Points 18-20 (£17,714.00-£19,048.00) per annum pro rata

The ideal applicant will be an adaptable, keen and enthusiastic person with excellent interpersonal skills. The successful candidate will work to maintain and develop a first class and dynamic technical support service. Previous experience in either a similar role or in a laboratory environment would be preferable. The successful applicant will possess an A-Level or equivalent qualification in a Science based subject.
