SENIOR SCIENCE TECHNICIAN

Due to the popularity of the subject and increase in courses offered at post-16 this is a new role and we are seeking a highly motivated Senior Science Technician to join our high performing Science Department.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved in and help shape our Academy at an exciting stage in its development.

The successful candidate will be a hardworking, creative, energetic, excellent practitioner who is able to both lead and support practical activities, working closely with the Science Technician and other faculty staff members.  They will have the capacity to help us to further develop a vibrant learning environment and a culture of enthusiasm for learning.  Their professionalism and dedication will enable our students to achieve more than they believe possible.

The Position

Working within the Science and Technology Faculty, the post of Senior Science Technician is permanent and 37 hours per week, Term time including Professional Learning Days plus five additional days.  The position requires support of science staff in their day to day activities to ensure excellent delivery of the Science curriculum. A familiarity with KS5 IB Science subjects would be advantageous.  All duties require working to time and budgetary constraints.

The Skinners’ Kent Academy is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school for children aged 11-18 with around 1,100 students currently on its role. Located in Tunbridge Wells, the Academy is a non-selective school in a local authority that operates a selective system.

The Academy is part of the Skinners' Academies Trust who are supported by The Skinners’ Company, one of the 12 great livery companies in the City of London.
