This is an exciting opportunity to join an academy in Weymouth within Ambitions Academies Trust as a Senior Science Technician. Dynamic, forward thinking and absolutely committed to changing the lives of all young people, we are seeking new colleagues who will share our inclusive and positive ethos as our pupil numbers continue to rise.
As Senior Science Technician you will be responsible for organising and executing the delivery and development of technical services in order to support the science curriculum of the academy for all students across the academy.
Contribute to an atmosphere of respect, recognition, optimism, celebration and mutual support in the academy which promotes equality within, and values the diversity of, the academy community.
Innovate and develop partnerships with organisations such as IOP, RSC and other professional bodies. To be proactive in developing resources that support the curriculum.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Operate a system for notification of practical requests, with appropriate notice periods and feedback to teachers on availability.
· Prepare, assemble, set up, and test materials, components, apparatus, tools and equipment and ensure their retrieval and clearing away after use.
· Assist with demonstrations when required.
· Contribute to the preparations for practical examinations/assessments, including attending practical examination previews if appropriate.
· Provide administrative support for science staff, including provision and production of resources e.g., photocopying.

Wey Valley Academy is a 990 PAN- pupil school which currently has 863 students. Wey Valley Academy joined Ambitions Academy Trust in 2019 and educates Boys and Girls aged between 11 and 16.
