Waverley Education Foundation (WEF) is a Multi Academy Trust, which operates both Waverley School and Waverley Studio College. It develops, brokers and delivers a range of services which support learning and leadership & management and improve outcomes for children and young people.

Waverley School is an all through school for pupils aged 4-19.  It also has a resource base for pupils with cognition and learning difficulties.  Waverley Studio College is a specialist academy catering for 14 – 19 year old students which offers both academic and vocational qualifications.  WEF has over 1900 pupils.  Within the Trust, we try to create an environment which allows everyone to develop mutual respect for each other and a respect for learning.  

This is an exciting time to join Waverley Education Foundation.  We have landmark buildings that provide everyone with state of the art facilities for learning, teaching and training. As part of the exciting growth plans for Waverley Education Foundation, we are expanding our team to meet future requirements.  We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Senior Systems Network Manager for the Trust.    

The Senior Systems Network Manager will be responsible for providing leadership, vision and management of the IT support department.  They will manage and strategically lead on the provision of IT systems, including software, hardware, telephony, network infrastructure and audio-visual equipment across the Trust ensuring all IT systems are readily available for operational use.  They will be required to identify opportunities for further development of IT across the Trust and design, plan and implement on-going improvements as required. The Senior Systems Network Manager will provide strategic oversight and advice for the on-going maintenance and development of the Trust’s IT and routinely report on the performance of the IT support team, suggesting and implementing on-going improvements to efficiency and provision.

All applicants must be able to communicate effectively with pupils, teachers and external agencies as required.  They will be expected to have experience of working in an IT support environment, preferably within an educational IT setting.  All applicants must be able to effectively use SIMS, E-Portal, SISRA, Microsoft Office Suite as an advanced user and be familiar with internal PC architecture, Microsoft Operating Systems, Apple Operating Systems, VMware and Network infrastructure. Applicants must be educated to a minimum of A level standard (or equivalent) with a degree in a related discipline. 

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

The successful candidate will need to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post and will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.

Waverley School is a co-educational, all-through school located in Birmingham, West Midlands. It has around 1800 pupils across its primary, secondary and sixth-form departments. The school is part of the Waverley Education Foundation, a multi-academy trust that also operates the local Waverley Studio College.

Waverley School became an all-through school in 2012 and moved to a new site in 2013. It is proud of its diverse student intake.
