Chelmsford Hospital School is an independent co-educational day school for young people aged 11 to 18 with mental health problems. Our pupils are all inpatients of the CAMHS unit at The Priory Hospital Chelmsford, based in Springfield, Chelmsford. We have a small team of specialist teachers and teaching assistants who deliver education to all young people at the hospital. It is our intention that every pupil develops their courage, determination and skills as a learner, so they can re-engage confidently with their education on discharge. We liaise with mainstream schools and colleges and each young person has an individualised curriculum plan in each subject area, with progress being closely monitored. Our school offers a broad based academic and enrichment curriculum, with specialist teaching spaces, teaching technologies and substantial grounds around our buildings.

Are you a qualified teacher and middle leader, with a great track record under Ofsted regulations?

Do you have experienced with working with young people with social, emotional or mental health problems and possibly used to leading a small team?

The successful candidate will have responsibility for the English curriculum development and pastoral care, supported by the Headteacher and Executive Head Teacher, as well as deputising for the Head when necessary. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates from mainstream or specialist education who are looking for their next step in leadership. If you have relevant experience, possibly with a relevant postgraduate or management qualification, then why not contact the Headteacher, Clare Drury at ClareDrury@AsprisCS.co.uk to arrange an informal chat.
