A wonderful and exciting opportunity has arisen in Salisbury for you to be part of the team that will shape the future education at our brand new school, St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy.

Located to the west of Salisbury, close to Wilton, St. Peter’s CE Primary Academy (currently under construction), is set in extensive grounds overlooking the Wiltshire countryside. The building will have state of the art facilities including a large hall, extensive sports facilities inside and out, a multi-functional studio, food-technology room and a purpose built nursery room. St. Peter’s school sits in the heart of an emerging community and has the potential to cater for 420 pupils. In September 2018, we will open with three classes. We are looking to appoint a senior teacher to support and, on occasion, deputise for the headteacher, Mr. Olli Martindale. Additionally, there will be a class responsibility. This exciting opportunity should appeal to an outstanding practitioner with a track record of improving standards beyond their own classroom.

Our senior teacher will support the headteacher in a variety of ways. At the core of our vision is ensuring high quality teaching and learning across the school. The senior teacher will be integral to leading and enhancing the teaching practice of others at the school. They will help establish the highest expectations for academic achievement in a highly effective, innovative, and distinctive Christian learning community.

With all teaching vacancies yet to be filled, there is the potential for a class responsibility within Early Years, Key Stage 1 or key stage 2.

The successful applicants will need to:

  • be willing to embrace, support and develop the Christian ethos of our school
  • be a team player 
  • lead, inspire and motivate children and staff alike 
  • have excellent classroom practice and high expectations of their colleagues 
  • have a desire to improve their own practice further

In return we are proud to offer you: 

  •  enthusiastic children 
  • willing, hardworking staff team 
  • supportive parents who are keen to be involved 
  • a strong team of governors 
  • CPD across the Trust 
  • development opportunities within the Trust

We strongly encourage you to take a look at our website and that of the Trust to get a feel for us. Although visits into the school are not possible at the moment, we would love the opportunity to meet you at our local offices followed by a site meeting.
