Job overview

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Warwick Foundation Studies department in the role of Senior Teaching Fellow (Course Director). This post will bridge academic, pastoral and administrative aspects of a number of courses, and contribute to further developing and enhancing the department’s fundamental commitment to innovative, evidence-based, student focused learning and teaching. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for coordinating and implementing strategic activities relating to enhancement of teaching and learning in the department.

You will have a track record of delivering high quality level 3/4 teaching, including innovative practice and the promotion and dissemination of evidence-based practice.

You will have the capacity to enthuse others about pedagogical development and applications in the classroom, and will work collaboratively to promote collegiality.

You will possess excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills and have significant experience of championing change management. While the position is teaching-focused, as part of your role we will strongly encourage and support you in the pursuit of individual pedagogical research or scholarship.

This position is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing and vibrant department at Warwick with a commitment to the highest quality of learning and teaching and high student satisfaction.

We will provide you with a great range of benefits, which include an attractive pension scheme, 30 days’ holiday plus Christmas closure, some fantastic savings on a wide range of products and services, and excellent learning and development opportunities.

We are committed to supporting staff to achieve their potential. The University of Warwick holds Athena SWAN silver award and the department is currently applying for Athena Swan bronze award, a national initiative that recognises the advancement of gender equality, representation, progression and success for all in academia. We are supportive of staff with caring responsibilities including a generous maternity/paternity/adoption/parental leave policy, onsite childcare facilities and the childcare vouchers scheme.

We welcome applications from any discipline areas on the Warwick IFP programme. (Please see Further Particulars for details.)
