Harlow College is seeking to appoint the following staff:
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented teacher to work in the Science area at Level 3, who will be able to play a key role in preparing, planning and delivering learning and co-ordinating formal assessments. The candidate will be responsible for delivering learning for BTEC Applied Science covering mostly Chemistry units, but with an expectation to be flexible; supporting the team to cover some Maths/Physics units.
The team offers the full BTEC Applied Science Extended Diploma, but also runs Access to Life Science, Access to Engineering, Maths and Science and in addition to offer the BSc and FdSc in Bioscience working in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University.
As a creative and pro-active professional you’ll be expected to use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning initiatives that engage, motivate and enable all learners of all abilities to develop and succeed, as well as maximising student potential. You will also be working to address individual learning needs, overcome barriers to learning and encourage autonomous learning.
If you have:
- A degree or equivalent in Chemistry or Physics (or a closely related subject)and relevant teaching and assessing qualifications
- Curriculum knowledge and, where relevant, industrial experience in the relevant area
- A teaching qualification or the willingness to obtain one
- Level 2 English & Maths
