Summary of responsibilities 

· To Be directly involved in the delivery and management of student learning with in the curriculum area

· Assist with monitoring student recruitment, retention and achievement

· Take remedial action where necessary

· Lead and manage programmes and to take on the role of course leader and pastoral tutor

· Work with your team and share good practices to promote a consistent approach to support and guidance across the college

· Contribute to management meetings and staff development

· To ensure a student centred approach to support and guidance by working with other provisions and other relevant support internal and external to the College

· Assist in the planning and monitoring of the induction period for all learners, including late starters

· Support the development of Equality and Diversity practice in tutoring and assist with EDIMS< ECM and safeguarding and health and safety

· Ensuring ILP records are kept in line with data protection

Essential Criteria

· Possession of a recognised teaching qualification, with 3 years teaching experience 

· A degree or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline

· Ability to teach from one of the following areas: networking, software engineering, web technologies, maths or English

· Experience tutoring or supporting individuals from a variety of age groups and courses including students with diverse additional needs

· Experience of mentoring new tutors 

· Ability to lead change

· A willingness to support and develop new tutors
