Manchester Health Academy opened in September 2009 and is sponsored by Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. In September 2010 the Academy moved into a £20 million state-of-the-art building and is now amongst the most popular schools in the city, showing significant academic improvement, a rapidly expanding student population and growing sixth form provision. Rated by Ofsted in April 2015 as a good school, with many outstanding features, we are now embarking on the next stage of our journey to outstanding and are looking for exceptional and inspiring individuals to help us achieve this ambition.

We are looking for a special individual who demonstrates considerable leadership ability which has led to excellence for all. Our vision is to combine education and health in transforming the futures of our young people. Our main sponsor is the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust and our co-sponsor is Manchester City Council.  Together we provide a unique set of strategies and opportunities to support our students on their journey towards success.  We provide a safe environment in which students develop the skills and attitudes essential for further study and employment and a curriculum which is enriched through the active involvement of our sponsors.  This, together with the support of Manchester United Foundation and other partners, puts Manchester Health Academy at the forefront of developments in sport science and health related subjects, underpinned by a real and relevant curriculum.

Our 21st century state of the art building provides a stimulating environment with excellent learning resources and technology, and under the direction of a strong leadership team and supportive governing body we are on track to success.  Employing over 120 staff all with talents and abilities in a wide range of specialist areas from teaching staff to senior leaders and support staff.  Everyone here is part of delivering something exceptional for our students – and we’re proud to be working together.
