Job overview

Joining us as a Sessional Lecturer, you will support a group or groups of full or part time students on specific barbering courses.

Developing and implementing student assessment strategies in accordance with College policies and the requirements of awarding bodies, you will be responsible for the proper conduct of the class and ensure that equipment and materials are treated with respect. You will complete all administrative work connected with teaching efficiently and effectively, including the preparation of classwork, marking of coursework, assessment of students, setting and marking relevant examination papers, progress reports, regular completion of registers and other termly or annual statistics as required.

So if you have energy, enthusiasm and passion for barbering and education, then we want to hear from you! All that we ask is that you are hardworking and flexible and hold a recognised Level 3 Barbering qualification which include face shaving. You’ll also have good teaching skills, an awareness of academic quality standards and the ability to support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.

A teaching qualification is not essential; however, we do ask that you are willing to achieve one within five years of commencing employment.
