Job overview

We are looking to recruit skilled graduates to deliver high-impact small group catch up tuition to save a generation of young people who have been so badly affected by the current pandemic. You will work with a combination of GCSE and/or Functional Skills level students, aged 16 and up, in small groups only, supporting them to bridge identified skills and knowledge gaps. Tutors will be provided with a scheme of work and teaching and learning materials and be supported throughout.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain and build transferable skills into your portfolio, work with highly skilled professionals, and make a real difference to the lives and opportunities of a generation. It’s an ideal role for newly qualified graduates or experienced professionals looking for flexible work opportunities to compliment other lifestyle commitments. We’ll negotiate a set timetable to suit your availability and our business need with hours primarily available term time, during the day with some opportunities for intensive holiday catch up sessions and/or evening work.

All that we ask is that you hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject and have energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education. We’d like you to be hardworking and flexible and can support, motivate and empathise with learners, including monitoring their progress.

Closing date for the return of a complete online application is 1st July 2022

Kingston College is a major provider of further and higher education in Kingston upon Thames. Situated in a thriving riverside town centre, Kingston College provides students with a friendly and stimulating environment for study.

Kingston is both a vibrant Surrey market town and one of the liveliest royal London boroughs, situated on the banks of the River Thames, 12 miles to the south west of London. Boasting great shopping, a colourful café culture, riverside walkways, a thriving arts scene and great nightlife, Kingston provides something for everyone. There are convenient and reliable bus and train services to all parts of the borough and London Waterloo can be reached in around 25 minutes.

Our extensive range of courses offers academic and vocational training from levels one to six. Every year over 600 students take up places at top UK universities and thousands more gain professional qualifications and training.  The College is very proud of its position as one of the top ten university feeders in London and the South East.

Kingston College has recently been awarded the matrix Standard and matrix Excellence Awards for organisations that have made exceptional progress against the standard. Matrix is a national quality standard which assesses an institution’s information, advice and guidance services and their level of customer service. Kingston College achieved whole college matrix accreditation in July 2008 in recognition of its excellence and impartiality with regard to its student support services. Matrix ensures that the right student enrols on the right course and, most importantly, enjoys the right support.

Our courses cover a spectrum of levels with content aimed at 16 to 19 and 16 to 24 year olds, adult education, higher education, short courses and courses for international students.
