Job overview

We are looking for a motivated and experienced person to take on this rewarding role.

You must be a pleasant and willing individual who must be able to undertake manual handling duties with the ability to remain calm and cheerful under pressure. You will also have a ‘can do’ attitude and have developed a wide range of DIY skills. You should also be able to work both in a team and under your own initiative. This will be a busy and physically demanding position. The person appointed will be able to communicate at all levels with pupils, staff, parents and local community as necessary.

The role will include unlocking the school in the morning and locking the school in the evening, keeping outside areas well maintained, drains and gutters clear, taking deliveries, liaising with contractors, maintenance and repair jobs and general caretaking duties. Health and Safety responsibilities include legionella testing, fire alarm testing, water temperature checks as well as a weekly recorded site inspection, identifying any hazards or maintenance requirements and making them safe.
