The centre is a collaborative provision between Outwood Academies Acklam, Bishopsgarth, Bydales, Normanby, Ormesby, Redcar and Riverside. The centre will be located on Burns Road, Eston in a modern building with excellent facilities.

Outwood Alternative Provision Eston is an innovative alternative provision centre, principally for students from Outwood Academies in the trust’s Northern Region (Tees Valley) who need additional behavioural, social, emotional or mental health support. In line with our absolute commitment to inclusion in its widest sense, this is an alternative provision for vulnerable students who display challenging behaviours and are often at risk of high levels of fixed-period exclusions or permanent exclusion.

Starting as soon as possible, we are seeking to appoint a part-time Site Assistant person who will assist the Site Supervisor with the care of the Academy premises and to carry out a range of general maintenance and health and safety duties within the buildings and the grounds.

Working hours are 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday. A flexible working approach is required.

The person appointed will have an excellent knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, a good understanding of safeguarding, be able to undertake maintenance tasks, and be responsible for the security of the site.

We are an 11-16 academy based in the large, north-east town of Middlesbrough.

The academy received a good judgement in their 2017 Ofsted inspection. However in July 2022 the academy was given a notice to improve judgement. Leadership has significantly changed and a comprehensive improvement plan has been implemented to secure sustainable long term change for the academy.
