Job overview

LAET's Site Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of our state-of-the-art, modern Sixth Form building. The role is ideally suited to an experienced Site Manager or Caretaker who is comfortable in a varied role that will require them to respond to call-outs for maintenance issues alongside carrying out statutory compliance tests or portering duties. The ability to multi-task, be adaptable and manage your own workload is essential.

Key responsibilities

To provide a professional day-to-day building maintenance support service ensuring minor repairs are carried out to a high standard

To escalate more serious buildings issues to the Business Director and to assist with overseeing contractors’ work 

To ensure the smooth running of the school by assisting with the moving of furniture, parcels and other items

To oversee the cleaning of the school building working with the outsourced cleaning contractors

Maintenance 

Proactively maintain, repair and ensure the general good order of the school buildings, fixtures and fittings as well as the outdoor areas

Undertake planned and reactive maintenance of the school

To maintain the highest level of customer service ensuring that all users are helped efficiently and in an appropriate manner 

 Portering

Move and relocate furniture and other equipment on school premises as and when necessary

Assist with the preparation of the school for events and activities

Assist with the setup and supervision of lettings

Security

In conjunction with on-site security ensure the school building is secure in the evening and that suitable arrangements are made in your absence

Compliance

To carry out all operations and tests as required for the building's safety and compliance 

Ensure employees are fully informed of their own responsibilities for acting within the law

Financial

To carry out ordering in line with Financial processes and procedures

Health and Safety

To assist the Business Director with completing site risk assessments as required

To accurately complete the daily welfare facilities checks and update records accordingly
