Job overview

Due to the retirement of our long-serving Site Manager, we are looking to appoint an experienced Facilities/Premises Manager to lead on the strategic management of all health and safety, site maintenance and IT aspects of the school.

The main responsibilities of the role include leading and managing the Facilities Team (5 staff); strategic management of Health & Safety, site and maintenance plans and procedures; managing the provision of outstanding first line technical support for all IT services and leading on the overall effective provision of all IT software and systems at the school.

Hours: Full Time – 37 hours per week. Some out of hours working may be necessary at evenings and weekends by mutual agreement

Contract: Permanent

Grade Range: H8 - H9 (Scale Point 28-31) – dependent on experience

Salary Range: £28,226 - £35,336 per annum plus £637 Fringe Allowance

Other allowances: Guaranteed overtime of up to 7 hours per week available

Annual Leave: 21 days per year (25 after 5 years); + 8 bank holidays and 2 additional statutory days during Christmas closure

The ideal candidate will be experienced, hardworking, flexible and pro-active in their approach to strategic planning and problem solving and able to effectively lead and manage a team who work on a shift basis.

Nicholas Breakspear Catholic School is a mixed, comprehensive, Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form situated in St Albans, Hertfordshire. It is also part of The Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust (DOWAT), which sponsors eleven faith schools in the Diocese of Westminster.
