The Governing Body invites applications from highly motivated and organised individuals with energy and vision to join our excellent and dedicated business team as our new Site Manager.

Although the position reports to the School Business Manager and the Head teacher we are looking for a candidate who can work autonomously, to proactively develop and deliver a comprehensive site management service.

From a practical standpoint, the Site Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and security of the whole school site and to ensure the school complies with all current legislation relating to site safety and management.

A wide range of duties are involved including but not limited to risk management and health & safety, the management and supervision of the school cleaning team, premises management, the completion of major and minor repairs, overseeing the schools heating, lighting and water provision and school security.

The post holder will also be expected to advise on suggested improvements to the general school environment and to carry out planned maintenance programmes.

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience of working in a similar role.
  • An ability to work proactively and autonomously, with minimal direction.
  • Good organisational skills in relation to managing own workload and that of team members and/or contractors.
  • Knowledge of COSHH guidelines.
  • Understanding of health and safety legislation, and good practice in relation to cleaning/caretaking.
  • The ability to operate electrical / mechanical systems.
  • The ability to regularly handle/ carry heavy items.
  • The ability to build networks and partnerships with local contractors.
  • The ability to use ICT effectively especially in word, excel and email systems.
