Job overview

We are looking to recruit a Sixth Form Administrator to help support the smooth running of the Sixth Form and provide administrative support to the Sixth Form Team.

To be considered for this role candidates should have experience in an administrative role preferably in a school or college.

Interested candidates should have excellent communication and inter-personal skills, be a team worker, highly organised and methodical with good attention to detail. A high standard of IT literacy is essential. Candidates must also be reliable, loyal and confident with the ability and desire to take responsibility for allocated tasks.

This is a 37.5 hour a week role. The working weeks will be term-time (including all INSET days) plus an additional 10 days during school holidays.

Main Areas of Responsibility

  • To be the first point of contact for all stakeholders who visit the Academy Sixth Form Centre.
  • To be the first point of contact for all stakeholders who telephone the Academy Sixth Form Centre.
  • To communicate effectively with all stakeholders, passing on messages when required.
  • To lead on the collating and updating of information on manual and computer based systems with regards to the Post 16 student bursary.
  • To manage the administration of the applications process using UCAS Progress.
  • To seek references from external candidates where required, organise the interview process and send letters informing students as to whether their application has been successful.
  • To organise induction into Year 12 and Year 13 via letter, spread sheet and liaison with subject teachers.
  • To work with the Head of Sixth Form to organise A level results days for Years 12 and 13.
  • To liaise with the Head of Sixth Form to organise the enrolment of Year 11 students into Year 12 on GCSE results day and during the summer holidays
  • To attend meetings when required, taking minutes if requested and distributing them after meetings.
  • To assist with the organisation and clerical records of extra–curricular activities with regards to trips, health and safety, outside agencies, guest speakers and UCAS.
  • To undertake reception and telephone duties, answering enquiries from staff, pupils, parents and the general public, ensuring all visitors are welcomed and records kept of their arrival and departure.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Training

  • Good numeracy/literacy skills
  • Minimum of 2 years admin experience
