Job overview

We are looking to appoint a permanent, outstanding Learning Mentor educated to degree level to support our Sixth Form Team with academic progress and pastoral work in Key Stage 5.

The Pingle Academy has an oversubscribed and expanding Sixth Form, with 230 students enrolled for September 2022. As an academy, we were in the top 25% of schools nationally for KS4 progress and in the top 5% of schools nationally for KS5 progress (2019). 

We can offer a caring and supportive working environment and professional development of a high standard. We take our staff wellbeing seriously and offer activities, like team sports, and a fitness suite and swimming pool, as well as staff pub quizzes and coffee and cake afternoons.  

Our Sixth Form currently has two Sixth Form Mentors: one supporting students in Humanities and Social Studies-based A Levels and the other coaching students with Sciences and Maths. We would welcome applications from candidates who have a background in Humanities, English or Social Studies. 

We are looking for a passionate person with excellent communication skills and a desire to make a difference to the academic outcomes of our young people as they prepare for the wider world of university, college, work and life. Applications are sought from high-calibre professionals who have the skills and talent to support our academy.

The Pingle Academy is an 11-19 co-educational, comprehensive school, became an academy in May 2017 and joined The de Ferrers Trust. Our over subscribed academy is the academy of choice in the local area and enjoys an excellent local reputation.
