The Spencer Academies Trust is a medium sized Trust which is committed to ensuring that every child, regardless of background, has access to an outstanding education and real choices in life. Our successful track record of providing high quality teaching and learning ensures improved outcomes for children and young people. Our highly successful network of 12 schools (5 Secondary and 7 Primary) educates students across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Nottingham City, Derby City and Leicestershire.
Our mission statement for the Trust reflects our vision and aim for all Trust schools.
To improve the life chances of children and young people by raising aspirations and fulfilling potential, challenging and supporting all the schools within the Trust on their journey to and beyond outstanding and to achieve this by developing world-class leaders.
John Port Spencer Academy is a large, vibrant and energetic community school demonstrating a common purpose and ambition - to ensure the very best learning experience for each and every one of our students. We recognise that every student has their own individual strengths, gifts and talents; our aim is to ensure that these are all nurtured and developed to their full potential.
We are seeking to appoint a Social time supervisor with first aid as soon as possible, to provide support in the dining room and the playground or areas of the school used during the morning break and dinner break, including areas where the children wait or queue in the dining areas. A good standard of behaviour is needed from the students and it is important that this should be maintained throughout the break and dinner period to make that a pleasant time for all concerned. The Supervisor must act as a responsible caring adult with the health, safety, and welfare of the children always in mind; must show conduct which commands respect and must encourage the children to behave at all times sensibly and quietly.
In between break and lunchtime, the Supervisor will support student services with lost property, sorting the stationery store, distributing items if required and any other tasks required by the student services, reprographics and administration staff.
The first aid area will also be covered by a Supervisor for half an hour in between break and lunchtime. First aid support is essential for this role, however training will be provided if necessary. There may also be opportunities for additional hours to cover first aid if the First Aid Officer is absent. This will be on an as needed basis and might be at short notice. For more information, please find the Person Specification and the Job Description attached.
Applicants would be expected to share the Trust’s high aspirations and expectations for pupils and staff.
