King's Oak British International School is a fully accredited BSO not for profit school that provides high quality education. We are a small friendly school that delivers the British National curriculum and Cambridge curriculum from Nursery to Year 12, leading to IGCSE and A levels. 

We are searching for an enthusiastic and dependable languages teacher to join our School. The teacher’s responsibilities include teaching students engaging lessons, developing rapport, and maintaining good relationships with students and parents. 

To be successful as a teacher, you should demonstrate sound knowledge of the subjects. Outstanding candidates are able to successfully teach students with different interests and aptitudes.


Teacher Responsibilities:

• Planning lessons and activities that facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced skills.

• Instructing in a manner that develops students' confidence in their abilities.

• Observing and managing classroom dynamics.

• Invigilating and grading projects, quizzes, and examinations.

• Tracking and communicating students' advancement throughout the course.

• Attending parent-teacher and faculty conferences.

• Keep records of grades, grade papers, and perform other administrative duties as needed.

• Create projects designed to enhance learning.

• Take account of pupils’ prior levels of attainment and use them to set future targets.

• Maintain good discipline by following the school’s pupil disciplinary policies and procedures.

• Read and stay abreast of current topics

• Utilise various curriculum resources.

• Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans.

• Utilise curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served.

• Develop professional relationships with other agencies and programs.


 

Teacher Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree

• At least 2 years’ experience

• Exceptional working knowledge in teaching students with varying educational levels.

• Familiarity with the national curriculum of England, Cambridge Curriculum (Plus IGCSE/GCSE and/or A Levels) 

• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child 

• A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Sound knowledge of the subjects.

• Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.

• Knowledge of various teaching methods and aids.

• Ability to maintain classroom discipline.

• Demonstrate ability to manage time effectively.

• Problem-solving skills.

• A patient and passionate individual.


 Desirable Skills and Attributes

• Ability to continue to raise the profile of languages in the school 

• Ability to extend high-flying students beyond the age-specific curriculum and develop suitable intervention strategies to suit their needs

• Ability to teach IGCSE and A Level

• The ability to extend and motivate able students to go beyond the IGCSE and A Level syllabus

• A willingness to take part in subject-related extracurricular after school activities.

• A willingness to offer regular revision sessions for students outside of normal teaching hours in the lead up to examinations

• An enthusiasm to continue learning and improving own knowledge and teaching.

• Experience in teaching both high achieving and less able students across all phases; the ability to extend able students and scaffold to enable students at a lower starting point to access and enjoy lessons.
